Peek a Boo shopper
A few weeks ago my mom and I headed out to Guilford mall to do a little shopping. We were stuck in traffic so we only go to the mall at close to 10:30. By the time we were finished browsing in O_d N@vy it was already after 11. Naomi usually goes down for a nap between 12-1, but I didn't want to turn right around a go home so we decided to see if Naomi would nap in her stroller that afternoon.
We enjoyed our shopping and finally sat down to have some lunch around 1 o'clock. I fed Naomi and gave her a bottle. Then I reclined her stroller and covered her with a blanket. We started walking, hoping that the movement of the stroller would lull her to sleep. She was so quiet I thought that she was asleep. When we stopped in font of another children's clothing store I looked down at the stroller and this is what I saw...
She had managed to sit up and pull the blanket up so that she could see what was going on. She looked so cute peeking out from under that blanket! Sleeping seemed to be the farthest thing from her mind.
Thankfully she fell asleep shortly thereafter and had a good nap while my mom and
I continued to shop. She woke up a few hours later and we all headed home. What a great girls day out!

10 months old
I am the mother of a 10 month old baby girl. I can't believe that in a short two months she will be one!
A lot has changed since her 9 month old update. If you missed it, you can read it here. Just before Christmas she finally got the hang of conventional crawling. We have had such a great time watching her explore the world. When she was not crawling I could leave the room for a quick moment without worrying that she would get into some mischief. Those days are long gone! Now I can't even turn my head for a moment.
The most exciting milestone of this month is that... Naomi is WALKING!!! She is still a little wobbly, but she can take numerous steps on her own between people. She has even ventured into the middle of the living room from the couch. I am so afraid that she is going to fall down and really hurt herself. I am trying to watch her all the time, but she has bumped her head a few times.
All day long Naomi pulls herself up on the furniture, gains her balance, and then lets go, goes for a walk, falls down and then tries again. It won't be long until she will walking without a problem. Ron and I are SO proud of her!

In loving memory..
of Franz Born (1931-2008)
Tonight at 5:50 pm my Opa left this earth and entered into glory. He had suffered from Parkinson's for a few years and had been living at Menno Home for the past 2 1/2years.
He had a stroke on Boxing Day and never fully recovered. The family has been by his side ever since. We love you Opa and we will miss you!
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
My Opa and Oma singing love songs to each other on Christmas Day 07
He leaves behind his loving wife Martha, His children Elizabeth and Henry, Peter and Agnes, Maria and Jura, Will and Louise, and Agnes, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
I am proud to say that I am Frank Born's granddaughter. He was a man of God who loved his wife and loved his family. Each of his children and grandchildren are Christian, and I know that this is as a result of the endless prayers of my Opa and Oma.
Thank you Opa for the legacy that you have left for your family, we will miss you!

"To laugh often and much, to win
the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false
friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, or a garden patch... to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This
is to have succeeded!" - Emerson
