Domestic Engineer

Earlier this week someone asked me what I do for work. I am a Domestic Engineer. It is a full time job looking after Naomi and keeping up with the housework. I have a great admiration for all those women who are able to work full time at a job outside of the home and still look after their housework and children. My hats off to you!
This week has been filled with working at home. I am always amazed that there is so much to do just to keep the house running. My days were filled with laundry, cleaning, and dishes. I always feel better when I know that the house is all clean and the laundry is done.
I tackled a big project this week. I decided to make my own baby food. I was not sure how difficult it would be, but I gave it a try. It turned out to be easier than I thought, thanks to the Magic Bullet that I received as a shower gift from my mother-in-law. Thanks Mom! I decided to start out with Sweet Potato, Peas, Carrots, Blueberries, Pears, and Peaches. I boiled the veggies and fruit and pureed them with a bit of water in the Bullet. Then I poured it into ice cube trays and froze them overnight. They all turned out great! Here is a picture of the finished product.

However I am so blessed that my day is not all work. I am so lucky to be Naomi's Mama. It makes everything I do worth it. Naomi is growing up so much every day! I can't believe that my little baby girl is already over 6 months old. She is rolling around on the floor, picking up toys, and sitting up all by herself. I can't get enough of her little chuckle and her beautiful smile. She is the light of my day!

Langley Cruise-In Car Show

Today, we spent the day in Langley admiring old cars. We decided to go and check out my Dad's '65 Beaumont. It's his hobby to restore old cars and attend car shows.

I guess we were not the only ones who wanted to spend the day strolling in the beautiful sunshine. It was packed with people! People were everywhere!

Ron and Dennis had a great time looking at Mustangs, Skylines, Vipers, Porsches, Motorcycles, and any other car you can think of! Here they are standing in front of a Mustang GT 350. Don't ask me what that means, all I know is that it was blue :)

Naomi enjoyed the show too. She was content to be in her stroller and admire the cars from a distance.

Now we are off to spend the evening at Dennis's house, and the guys are going to watch to UFC free-per-view. What a great day!

Happy Birthday Daniel!

My baby brother is 21! He has been attending Capenwray in New Zeland since January, so he is not at home for his birthday. We miss you Dan!
Happy Birthday Daniel! The countdown is on until you come home. Naomi can't wait to meet her Uncle Dan!
The way we remember him:

The way he looks now:

What a change! Dan, I really like your beard and long hair. It suits you and makes you look older! I bet the girls like it too ;) Happy Birthday, I hope that your day is wonderful!

Last Lazy Days of Summer

Our time in Penticton is almost over! It has been a great trip, but tommorow we start a long day of packing, driving, unpacking, and laundry. Here are a few pictures from our last few days.

Naomi watching college football with daddy on Saturday morning.

We went for a walk every morning and usually found a good place to take some pictures. These are a few of our favorites.

On Friday afternoon we were joined by two more families. The older girls took on the role of babysitters, while Naomi and Parker were carried around from place to place whether they liked it or not. The girls were a great help and sure made my days a lot easier! Here is a shot of some of the girls playing with the babies.
And another one with all the girls with Naomi.

I really need to get some sleep so I have to cut this post short. I'll finish off with a great group shot of all of us together. We have had great time together with our new friends and old friends!
"To laugh often and much, to win
the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false
friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, or a garden patch... to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This
is to have succeeded!" - Emerson
